El Calafate is located in the Patagonia Region in the province of Santa Cruz. It lies at 185 meter over sea level on the foot of Calafate Mountain and on the borders of the Lake Argentino, called the Bahia Redonda. It received its name due to the typical Patagonian vegetation Calafate which grows in this region.
The city has become one of the most touristic destinations of Argentina due to the numerous glaciers and mountains which surround it and form the National Park Los Glaciares (National Park of the Glaciers). It is a privileged place that provides all the necessary services and is well equipped for a high touristic demand.
We invite you to get to know this beautiful place from which you can also start your tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier.
